Energy Audit at Polyester Chip Making Industry, Bhind, MP

Executive Summary

A polyester chip making industry of bhind, M.P. is engaged in the manufacture of polyester chips of various types such as film grade, bottle grade etc.

Boilers, Thermic Fluid Heaters, Steam Jet Ejectors and DG sets are the main sources of energy. The daily furnace oil consumption in the plant in the boilers & thermopacs is 30 KL. HSD is used as fuel in the DG sets. Average HSD consumption in DG sets was found 801922 Litres/month during the study.

A comprehensive energy conservation study of the plant was carried out by PCRA to ifentify potential areas of energy conservation and recommended energy savings measures along with cost benefit analysis. PCRA’s audit finding highlights potential savings of Rs. 155.95 lacs at an investment of Rs 35 lacs from 7 proposals, covering the following areas.
