A Forge Industry at , Tamilnadu is engaged in manufacturing
of various product of industrial need such as valve body,
seat, control valve parts etc. through heat treatment &
subsequent drop forging method.
Electricity and Furnace Oil (EYC) are the main sources of
energy. A comprehensive energy conservation study of the plant
was carried out by PCRA to identify potential areas of energy
conservation and recommend energy savings measures along with
cost benefit analysis. PCRA’s audit finding highlights
potential savings of Rs. 12 lacs at an investment of Rs. 7.80
lacs with a simple payback period of 0 to 21 months from 6
proposals (i.e. 0.24 Lacs kWh & 105 KVA of electricity
and 38.2 KL of Furnace oil against the annual consumption
of 9.63 lacs KWH of electricity and 316 KL of Furnace oil),
covering the following areas:
