Purchase price
of Biodiesel - Declared by MOP & NG |

| On 09th October 2005, on the occasion of "Inaugration
of Hydrogen - CNG Mix dispenser and signing of MOU between
Panchayats and M/s D1 Oil for Biodiesel" at Indian Oil,R
& D Center Faridabad Shri Mani Shankar Ayer, Honrable
Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Panchayati Raj
has declared the purchase price of Biodiesel as Rs25 per liter.

| The contribution of PCRA in fixing the purchase price is
as follows: |
As advised by Secretary P&NG, a meeting was organised
by PCRA held at PCRA on 23.2.05 attended by senior executive
from IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Ministry of Consumer Affairs (BIS)
& Ministry of Agriculture (NOVOD Board). |

The
issues discussed during the meeting are:
- Fixing minimum support price for the oil.
- Fixing specifications for the oil to be purchsed.
- Information from Agriculture Ministry about how much
area is under cultivation of Jatropha in different states,
so that rough estimate can be made as to how much oil would
be available in each state.

On 15th March 2005 a meeting was organised at PCRA New
Delhi to discuss the necessity for fixing purcase price for
biodiesel by the Oil companies.The meeting was attended by
senior officials from 8 states along with officials from Ministry
of Petroleum and Natural Gas,Planning Commission, Ministry
of Panchayati Raj,Ministry of Rural Development,Ministry of
Agriculture,NOVOD Board and Oil Company Officials. |

On 03rd April 2005,a meeting was convened by Honrable Minister
for P&NG and PR on "feasibility of early indication
of price at which bio diesel of required quality could be
procured ".In this meeting, PCRA gave presentation on
'indicative price for bio-diesel' to work out the price that
could be offered by the oil companies for purchasing bio-diesel. |

On 11th July 2005, a meeting was organised at PCRA New
Delhi.The meeting was attended by senior executive from IOCL,
BPCL, HPCL and PCRA to discuss : |
- Procurement of available stock of biodiesel with private
entrepreneurs.
- Price of procurement.
- Minimum support price of biodiesel.

On 16th August 2005,PCRA organised a meeting under the
chairmenship of Secretary P&NG.The meeting was attended
by Senior Executives of IOCL,BPCL,HPCL,PPAC,MOP&NG,NOVOD
and PCRA for fixing purchase price of biodiesel by Oil companies
and identifying purchase centres for biodiesel. In this meeting
PCRA made a presentation suggesting purchase price and purchase
centers In this meeting the members agreed at a purchase price
of biodiesel meeting ASTM standards at Rs 23 per litre. |
