| Efficacy of biodiesel for usage as renewable alternate
fuel to petro-diesel is well established. Many agencies including
Govt. and private have been making efforts for promotion and
development of biodiesel in the country. Somehow, the activities
are scattered and a coherent network for maintenance of sustainable
supply chain activities from seed to biodiesel has not got
built. Hence, a one-point information processing gains significance.
Today, in our country no such mechanism exists from where
information can be obtained, accessed, analyzed & presented
on the work undertaken and accomplished in bio-fuel development
chain. All the information lies scattered and it becomes difficult
to present in the International forum to obtain benefits of
various mechanisms.
Keeping this in mind, PCRA has designed a biodiesel
Bank and will be maintaining the data trough its website
www.pcra-biofuels.org. This unique system would facilitate
the flow of information to the National Biofuel Centre operational
at its Corporate office.
Under the biodiesel Bank different activities
being pursued in the country for propagating, promoting and
development of bio-fuels will be given credit points based
on the vitality of the activity in the supply chain starting
from identification of land to the end use of bio-fuels. The
credit points will get credited to the credit bank account
of individuals and organizations maintained at the National
Biofuel Centre, Delhi. The credit points will continue to
get accumulated based on the information supplied (with supporting
documents) by individuals and organization on completion of
a specific task by them. The credit points awarded would be
available on our website.
PCRA has made a list of activities based on which it is awarding
credit points. Any new activity not included in the present
list will be included in the list based on requirement and
justification.
Based on the credit point accumulated by individuals and
organizations, PCRA will give Annual awards for the exemplary
work done by individuals and organization. PCRA is also planning
to develop a mechanism to give incentives to various stakeholders
working in the field of bio-fuel promotion and propagation.
This would provide and opportunity to the stakeholders to
associate them with the Bio-diesel movement in a manner that
no vital link of biodiesel development chain is missed.
PCRA invites all stake holders in the field of bio-diesel
in India to send information regarding activities being pursued
and the status of completion so that PCRA awards credit point. |
