Upgradation of Testing Facilities of non-ISI Foot Valve

Objective

The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance in the form of soft loan to non-ISI foot valve manufacturers to upgrade their testing facilities to meet the BIS requirement thereby eliminating the production of non-ISI foot valves in the country. The root of the problem in the agriculture pumping system is the manufacture and sale of cheap inefficient foot valves. Most of the non-ISI foot valve manufacturers do not have adequate foot valve testing facilities to meet the BIS requirements. By providing this financial assistance, it is expected that in future only ISI marked foot valves are manufactured and marketed in the country.

Loan Scheme

A beneficiary can take assistance in the form of soft loan up to a maximum of Rs. 65,000/- from PCRA towards the purchase of equipment/infrastructure to upgrade the testing facilities. An interest rate of 8% on reduced principal basis per year shall be charged on the loan amount. The repayment of loan will begin one year after it is paid (principal & interest) in two equal annual installments.
